RE: 40 ft VS larger Class A

Have you ever driven anything 40+ feet long in heavy traffic, construction zones, narrow streets with right turns? I have followed motor homes thru construction areas with the barriers on the edge of the lanes that took both lanes. Obviously the driver was in over his head with the vehicle he chose.
At that size you should really base your decision on your driving skills and experience, the ability to learn to drive a 40+ ft. vehicle.

RE: Wobble Wagon

I have friend?
That says it for me.
Too many people make themselves feel better by making others feel bad; their 'things' are better than your 'things'. Emotionally they never made it past 4 years old, a person's value is in their 'things', they insult others because of their 'things'. Life's too short to get caught up in their problems.

The sign sure cuts down on clearance, it probably didn't last too long.

RE: How long can we park it and do nothing?

Does it mean I can skip inflation for the 3-rd year in the row?
You can skip inflation as long as they hold the pressure you need. You can't skip checking them. I have tires on the same vehicle that need air a lot, others that have never had air added and they are over 3 years old.

RE: weight limits for entry steps and furniture

Wow!
Next topic, how do you politely tell someone they are too big for your trailer?
It only has one bed, right? No chance of using the bathroom. Wouldn't be much of a trip with no where to sleep and a quarter mile walk to the facilities.

RE: weight limits for entry steps and furniture

I don't think the steps would be a problem unless the mounting is poor. I wouldn't want her on my furniture. I think the real problem will be the bathroom.

RE: Run over by security guard at outdoor resorts park indio ca.

So sue them. Didn't you always want to own Warmington resort? You will get sympathy here but no one will be able to help you. If you have $4130K (is that right, 4 million?) in medical bills because of an action of their employee and they say sue to recover follow their direction. Either that or set up payment plans with the providers.

RE: Inverter questions for fridge swap

I have same fridge as Steve but different brand name. Mine draws .9A @110V, Tripplite PV1250 has a load sense that will shut down the inverter when no load is detected.
So what brand do you have? I looked at the Home Depot site and the Magic Chef is out of stock.

RE: Trade in horror story

If using the vehicle as collateral then they are listed as the secured party on the title. If that is so then how did you trade it in without getting the bank to sign off i don't think they would do
They didn't pay it off, the OP is receiving calls about late payments because the loan is still in his name:
He has yet to pay off the trade in and it not only appears on our credit reports as a current contract, but we have been called constantly by the bank regarding late payment.
Private party sales, you get a check for the loan payoff, the balance for the seller. Dealers you trust because you have a contract. Probably not a good thing to do in these times.
First, Do not get an attorney. This dealership is under either the State motor Vehicles dept. or the Consumer Dept. or even the Secretary of state. Find the correct agency and file a compliant immediatly.
Michigan Secretary of State regulates dealers, mechanics. I don't normally recommend an attorney because everything gets protracted and expensive. But in this case paying to write one letter isn't a bad idea. Late payments are going on the OP's credit report, that isn't good for a lot of reasons and could easily cost more than the letter.
Second, just how much is involved for the payoff? If less than your states samall claims limit, bring an action there. If more then work thru the state agency.
MI limit is $3000, probably not an option. It the payoff is less than that the dealer is in really bad shape.
Third, after you determine the correct state agency that licenses dealers in yor state, press them to bring criminal charges. Let the Dealer know you are pursuing this.
MI SOS is like dealing with a third world government agency. They lost the title application for a vehicle I bought out of state. I was told by 17 employees the title will go out tomorrow. I was told it would take 60 days to research the problem, don't call until after that. I was told to go to the local branch they deal with those problems. After 6 months they admitted they lost the paperwork.
My point is you don't pressure them, they don't care. It is a good idea to pay the attorney to write a letter, get it on record now because there will be problems because the credit agencies are recording late payments. That can get expensive very quickly. As soon as you find problems like this deal with them. Reporting it to the SOS is the right thing to do, waiting for a government agency to solve the problem for you is a really bad mistake.

RE: Trade in horror story

Notice how there have been no Walt Michaels ads on tv or radio this summer, not even for rentals at the races at MIS? I figured times were tough for them. I agree, you need to do something quickly before you are stuck with two payments, lawyer, repo, Secretary of State, maybe all of the above.

RE: Air Brake Chamber

Brake chambers are easy to change, 2 bolts or nuts, a clevis and the air lines. If it is the rear get the complete setup, don't mess with the spring brake, they aren't that much more expensive. There are a lot of them though, make sure you get the right one.

A motorcycle jack also works. They have a wider and longer lifting area than a floor jack, wider stance and are a lot more stable when pulling fuel tanks.

RE: Where can you get National RV Parts?

Can you post a picture? They might be the same as used by other manufacturers.
Try an industrial hardware outfit like Moore's or a truck body builder supply outfit. I seriously doubt the latches were made for National, more likely a common part in the industry. If you look it probably has a name stamped or cast in it, that will help your search.

RE: Kepping Overhead Doors Open - How do YOU do it?

Door strut
Hey, I like my doors that open like a car trunk. Up out of the way when open, no smacking into them. I did replace several of my struts a few years ago that were getting weak. This is the cheapest I found them. They combined shipping so the price was real good compared to others I found.

RE: Inverter questions for fridge swap

I agree you are going to tax your batteries unless you have a really big bank. Is the Samlex large enough to run the frig? That said, you can do it with one relay, DPDT, contacts rated for the refrigerator current with a 120v coil. Wire the refrigerator off the common contacts. Wire the NC contacts to the inverter, wire shore power to the NO contacts and coil. The refrigerator will run off the inverter until you plug into shore power, then will automatically switch.

RE: Dry camping question.

My motor home has an outside outlet that is probably on the same circuit as the kitchen, never tripped that breaker and haven't really checked it out. In my case I would have to watch not only what the popup used but probably coordinate my microwave and coffeemaker use. Depending on how yours is wired you might also need to watch your usage.
